Foundations for Intercultural Studies
St-Paul Trois Châteaux

1st part, April-June 2020

85%. This figure may not speak to you, yet it is the percentage of Muslims who have never heard of Jesus’ love. It’s huge, isn’t it?
Like us, are you one of those who have an open heart for our Muslim friends? Do you want to get to know them better and meet them? Do not wait any longer and register for the school of Foundations for Intercultural Studies (FIS) here at YWAM Provence!

1st part, April-June 2020

The FIS aims to help you start or continue in pioneering missions in the medium or longer term. During the first 3 months, this training will allow you to integrate and put into practice different topics such as:

– To know and understand Islam and Muslims
– Intercultural exchange and adaptation, reconciliation between cultures
– Thrive as an expatriate
-Creating bridges between Christians and Muslims
– Principles to start a business
– Communication and relationships with supporters and churches
– Biblical Foundations in Mission
-Learning a new language
– Project planning and teamwork
– Principles for the multiplication of disciples
-Learning the oral transmission of stories
– Etc.

You will learn through different experienced teachers how to thrive on the field, and you will have the opportunity to practice what you learn directly in the region where we are. France is a country with a large number of immigrants, more specifically from North Africa, but also from different nations around the globe.

2nd part, July-September 2020

The lecture phase of 3 months will be followed by an internship in a North African country of at least 3 months. During this period, you will have the opportunity to taste this beautiful culture and put into practice what you have received, while enjoying the necessary support for your development and discovery. You will dive into the life and habits of the Maghreb and you will be introduced to their practices and their language!

Historically, YWAM Provence has been and remains a springboard for equipping and sending workers across borders. We work with experienced people, who know the field well, having worked in Africa and Asia among different people groups such as the Mongols, Pygmies, Fulani, Tuaregs, Malians, etc. This school is oriented towards North Africa but can also equip you for an implication in the Muslim world at large!

Who is it for ?
You did a DTS (Discipleship Training School) and you want to continue serving in the medium or longer term especially in the Muslim world? This school is surely for you!
