Foundations for Intercultural Studies
Provence

85% – That’s a huge percentage of Muslims who have never heard about the love of Jesus.

Do you have a passion and a heart for Muslims? Have you always wanted to get to know them better over a cup of coffee or tea and start to build relationships with them?

Then don’t wait any longer! Sign up for the FIS and join one of our teams working with North Africans! We work in Southern Europe and North Africa to bring the gospel to the last, the least, and the lost.

Next school will start on January 15, 2025, contact us to find out more!

The Foundations for Intercultural Studies course aims to build pioneers who will be on the field long term. This training will allow you to integrate and put into practice different topics such as:

  • Knowing and understanding Islam and Muslims
  • Adaptation to new cultures and reconciliation in those cultures
  • Living overseas as an expatriate
  • Building bridges between Christians and Muslims
  • Principles in business for missions
  • Relationships with supporters and churches
  • Biblical Foundations in Missions
  • Language learning
  • Project Planning and teamwork
  • Multiplication of disciples
  • Oral story telling
  • And so much more!

You will learn with experienced teachers how to grow in the field and have the opportunity to put into practice what you learn directly in Southern Europe and North Africa.

Southern Europe is full of large numbers of people with immigrant background, specifically from North Africa but also different nations around the globe; and North Africa is 99% Muslims. The harvest is so plentiful!

During this school, you will have the opportunity to experience the beautiful culture of North Africa and put into practice what you have learned while benefiting from the support of the team you join.

Together you will discover and develop life in the field as you are immersed in the life and habits of North Africans through language learning and hanging out with locals.

Historically, YWAM Provence and YWAM North Africa, have been and remain a springboard for equipping and sending workers across the borders. We work with experienced people from many backgrounds who have expertise in Africa, Asia and Europe among many different people groups such as Mongols, Pygmy, Fulani, Touareg, and Malians.

Who is the YWAM FIS for?

Everyone who has completed a DTS and has a heart for the Muslim world will benefit from completing the FIS. The school is oriented towards North Africa, but will equip you for involvement in the wider Muslim world. Anyone who is called to work with other YWAMers in Morocco, Western Sahara, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Mauritania, Niger, Chad, or anywhere else in the Muslim world should complete the FIS.
